There are not enough words to describe how magnificent our trip turned out. We sailed on the M/V Plancius between January 16 - February 3, 2016. When we learned that it was previously a research vessel we truly thought "bare bones". My husband and I were so pleased with our ship choice. We were on level two of the ship in an nicely appointed room with more than adequate closets, great mattresses and an up to date bathroom with great shower head that was larger than most of the regular cruise ships we have frequented. The cabins were equipped with up do date TV's offering daily schedules, menus and movies. The ship was a nice size and the restaurant and cabin staff knew all of our first names (104 passengers) after the first few days. The chef and kitchen crew prepared a buffet breakfast and lunch each day and a sit down dinner. We truly enjoyed our dining choices and were surprised by the variety of delicious offerings. The expedition team offered informative programs and one on one interaction with guests. Overall the amenities of the ship offered both a cozy atmosphere, as well as, an opportunity to view wildlife and scenery from various locations on the ship.
The weather was about 30 most days (2 rainy/windy/no sun) with light winds, sunny skies, reasonable swells and an expedition team and ship's captain who went above and beyond to make sure that we got to enjoy all locations. The scenery, wildlife and locations took our breath away. My script for Transderm Scopolamine made all the difference - no sea sickness and the ability to deal with the swells, etc. Each of us made individual and family memories that will last a lifetime. We loved Ushuaia and explored endlessly.
Thank you Kristy for your wonderful guidance, thoughtful suggestions and continuing encouragement. You and the Plancius team made the trip magnificent! Thanks to you, our family made "life long special memories" and they would not have been possible without your encouragement and help - a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart!
